Peer Review Policy

All manuscripts submitted to The Ecoscan Journal undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are withheld from each other throughout the review process.

Review Process

  1. Initial editorial screening — Every submission is first checked by the editorial office for scope, formatting, and originality (see our Plagiarism Detection Policy), and screened using iThenticate.
  2. Peer review — Manuscripts passing initial screening are sent to a minimum of two independent reviewers with relevant subject expertise, who evaluate the work for originality, methodological soundness, and contribution to the field.
  3. Editorial decision — Based on reviewer feedback, the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Associate Editor makes a decision to accept, request revisions, or reject the manuscript.
  4. Revision (if applicable) — Authors are given the opportunity to respond to reviewer comments and resubmit a revised version, which may undergo a further round of review.

Turnaround Time

Authors can typically expect a first decision within 8–12 weeks of submission. Timelines may vary depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.

Reviewer Guidelines

Reviewers are asked to evaluate manuscripts objectively, disclose any conflicts of interest, maintain confidentiality of the manuscript under review, and provide constructive, evidence-based feedback to authors.
